What is InfiniBand™

InfiniBand (IB) is a computer networking communications standard used in high-performance, multi-purpose network architecture.  The InfiniBand protocol is based on switched fabric computing that features very high throughput and very low latency and has become a leading standard in high-performance computing. Over 200 of the world’s fastest 500 supercomputers use InfiniBand. InfiniBand leverages switched, point-to-point channels with data transfers that generally lead the industry, both in chassis backplane applications as well as through external copper and optical fiber connections. The low-latency, high-bandwidth interconnect requires only minimal processing overhead and is ideal to carry multiple traffic types (clustering, communications, storage, management) over a single connection.

All of our components comply with MSA (Multi-Source Agreement) output standards and, in many cases, excel beyond those certification standards. Every transceiver we produce is tested on active network devices to ensure they comply with OEM equipment and are verified to be plug-and-play and do not require work arounds.
