GigaTech Products Copper CAT Cables

GigaTech Products supplies standard and custom copper patch cords for your network and computing application needs. These cables offer superior data transmission with outstanding performance characteristics which exceed industry standards.

Cat5e (Category 5 enhanced) is the least expensive and most used. Crosstalk among the wires within the cable is reduced, resulting in less interference and less chance of transmission error. Industry standard for Cat5E supports data transfer speeds up to one Gigabit per second (Gbps) at 100 MHz up to 328 feet, while GigaTech Products Cat6 EXCEEDS INDUSTRY STANDARD at 350 MHz, allowing for a stronger signal. Cat5e will provide capable performance for most of today’s applications, but also leaves less opportunity for faster speeds in the future.

Cat6 is more expensive but also carries a stronger signal than Cat5e. Improved insulation over Cat5e allows for even less (or no) crosstalk interference. Industry standard for Cat6 supports data transfer speeds up to 10 Gbps at 250 MHz, while GigaTech Products Cat6 EXCEEDS INDUSTRY STANDARD at 550 MHz, allowing for a stronger signal. Gigabit speed can be attained up to 328 feet and 10 Gbps speed is effective up to 164 feet. Cat6 cabling is more qualified to handle the fast pace of Gigabit Ethernet networks and limited 10 Gbps
Ethernet networks.

Cat6a (Category 6 augmented) is the right choice for a long-term 10 Gbps networks. Cat6a cables also provide for even less crosstalk than Cat6 due to shielding. Industry standard for Cat6a supports the same 10 Gbps transmission speed as Cat6, but up to 328 feet and at 500 MHz, while GigaTech Products Cat6a EXCEEDS INDUSTRY STANDARD at 600 MHz, equaling the new Cat7 standard. While Cat6a is more expensive than Cat5e and Cat6, the hardware you’ll be connecting to your network will only become more sophisticated as technology grows.
